Yorkshire Payments state-of-the-art head office right in the centre of Brighouse

Leading payment technology specialist, Yorkshire Payments, processes more than half a billion pounds in card transactions every year for businesses across Yorkshire. Going against the trend towards out of town business parks, the team has just opened a new, state-of-the-art head office right in the centre of Brighouse.

Hi James. Can you tell us about why you’ve chosen to buck the trend and place Yorkshire Payments back at the heart of the Brighouse high street?

“As a business, we are fiercely proud to be based in Brighouse and our business ethos centres around supporting independent, local and regional companies. I think we’d be contradicting that if we tucked ourselves away on an out-of-town business park. As part of our move, we hope to help attract new customers and clients to the shops and businesses in Brighouse.

“We have hundreds of meetings each month with individuals and companies from all over Yorkshire, and we hope the retailers that surround us in the town centre will be able to capitalise on this additional footfall to the high street.”

What can we expect to find at the new head office? We’ve heard there are some unique additions!

We’ve invested heavily in moving from a 900 square foot space to an office that now occupies a former chapel and covers 5,850 square feet, so there are some pretty big changes! Our teams are now surrounded by modern, open plan spaces that are divided by bright, airy glass walls and contemporary décor.

Clients are welcomed in our stunning reception area, and we have even installed a working bar complete with beer pumps where we can entertain customers and demonstrate our card payment and EPOS solutions in a real-life environment. We like to bring lots of personality to what we do, and some exciting additions such as our new bar area reflect that.

From your new head office, the Yorkshire Payments team looks after some of Yorkshire’s most well-known brands. Can you tell us a bit more?

We work with more than 3,500 clients across Yorkshire from start-ups and sole traders through to The Piece Hall, Cannon Hall Farm The John Smith’s Stadium and Bradford City Football Club to name a few. I firmly believe the reason we attract such a high calibre of businesses is that all our team – from sales, to technicians, to customer care – is still based in Brighouse, meaning we can deliver a local, knowledgeable and speedy approach to customer care that high street merchant service providers simply cannot provide.”

What does the future look like for Yorkshire Payments?

Our move back to Brighouse town centre is part of our growth plan, and we want to continue partnering with fantastic Yorkshire businesses to help them make the most of card payments, without it costing them the earth. We also hope to create up to 80 new jobs over the next 36 months as we expand, and our new head office is the perfect environment to ensure we continue to flourish.
