Bucking the High Street Trend – We’ve moved back to the heart of Brighouse

Bucking the High Street Trend

The team at Yorkshire Payments is delighted to announce that we have relocated to a brand new, 5,850sq. ft head office in the heart of Brighouse town centre as the business continues to grow.

As we continue to work with an increasing number of prestigious, Yorkshire based clients including The Piece Hall and Harrogate Spring water,  we have invested a six-figure sum to prepare us for further business growth and give us the capacity to welcome between 60 to 80 new faces to the Yorkshire Payments team over the next few years.

You’ll now find us surrounded by history located at the grade two listed former Bethel Chapel building on Bethel Street in Brighouse, right next to the main high street.

Talking about the move, our founder and MD, James, says:

"Everyone at Yorkshire Payments is fiercely proud to be based in Brighouse. We want to buck the trend by moving into to the high street rather than away from it. Our whole way of doing business is centred around supporting independent, local and regional companies, and we’d be contradicting that if we tucked ourselves away at on out-of-town business park."

Helping Brighouse town centre prosper

As part of our move, we are very excited about the prospect of helping to drive increased footfall to Brighouse town centre and supporting the businesses we are proud to now call our neighbours.

James explains:

“Our office space has grown from 900 square feet to almost 6,000 square feet, and we really hope to help attract new customers and clients to the shops and businesses in Brighouse.

“We have hundreds of meetings each month with individuals and companies from all over Yorkshire, and we hope the retailers that surround us in the town centre will be able to capitalise on this additional footfall.”

As part of the move, we’re also hoping to create new jobs over time.

We are looking to recruit for between sixty to eighty new staff over the next 36 months as we grow the business, with most of these jobs being based out of our new head office. We’d love to hear from people who think they might like to join us across a variety of roles. If that’s you, email us on info@yorkshirepayments.com.

Senior Management Team on Bethel Street new office

A state-of-the-art HQ

Our new HQ will be a world away from our previous office, and we have invested heavily in refurbishing the space to create a state-of-the-art environment for colleagues and clients alike.

Our team will be able to make use of a relaxation area including games consoles and a brand-new canteen, and we are even planning on installing a fully functioning bar that will double as our boardroom and allow us to demonstrate our card payment solutions in a real-life payment scenario. Watch this space!

We’re also working hard to reduce our carbon footprint, and the new office will be a paper-lite environment fitted with state-of-the-art LED lighting.

Overall, we’re very excited about the move, which forms part of our strategy accommodate further growth for the business. We processed a record half-a-billion pounds in card transactions through its systems in the last 12 months – so we’re certainly getting bigger!

Yorkshire Payments now has over 3,500 clients across Yorkshire including some of the region’s best-known sports venues and tourist attractions such as The John Smith’s Stadium, Bradford City Football Club, Cannon Hall Farm and The Piece Hall.

The international brands we work with include Harrogate Spring water, global workwear manufacturer, Snickers Workwear and household white goods manufacturer, White Knight.

As you can tell, there’s lots happening at Yorkshire Payments, and we hope you’ll wish us well as we start a prosperous new chapter.
