We spoke to our Applications Manager, Sophie Williams. She takes care of submitting new applications to the acquiring banks. We asked Sophie what her role is in the business and what she enjoys about Yorkshire Payments and the services we offer. Let’s see what she said:
Q1: What is your job role within the business? tell us about the role.
Answer: Applications Manager – I am responsible for submitting and overseeing new applications to the acquiring banks ensuring that all the information is completed correctly, and all the relevant documents have been provided. I also process any amendments for existing accounts and resolve any queries that come back from the acquiring banks and suppliers we work with.
Q2: How do you think that card payments in the UK will evolve over the next 5 years?
Answer: I very rarely carry cash anymore, especially with the pandemic. I have noticed more and more businesses prefer card payments rather than cash.
Q3: What’s something you enjoy about the business and the services we provide to our clients?
Answer: I like that we are a local company and provide a more personal service compared to our competitors. We are easy to contact, and our engineers are usually nearby to visit our customers to resolve any technical issues face to face if needed.
